GRULAC inaugurates photo exhibition, My Latin American and Caribbean Trip – 4th Edition on March 3rd, 2020

The exhibition is a selection of some of the best photos from the fourth edition of the photo contest “My Latin American and Caribbean Trip” (MLACT) 2019.

Started in 2016, MLACT is an initiative of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean (GRULAC) countries that invites Indian tourists and non-professional photographers to submit photographs taken during their trips to Latin America and the Caribbean. The purpose is to encourage tourism and expose to the audience the natural beauties and cultural richness of these countries.

The 4th edition of MLACT received more than 90 entries from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Panama and Jamaica. The evaluation of the photographs was conducted by a committee comprising officials from GRULAC missions and travel journalists who selected 26 finalists including 4 winning photographs:

  • 1st: Atul Sharma – Hummingbird, Ecuador
  • 2nd: Priy Bharti -Eje cafetero, Colombia
  • 3rd: Tushar Anand – Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico
  • 4th: Bharatendu Agarwal – Majestic Iguazú, Brazil-Argentina

The exhibition was inaugurated by the GRULAC missions in collaboration with the Delhi Photography Club and the India International Centre. H.E. Héctor Cueva Jacome, GRULAC Coordinator and Ambassador of Ecuador welcomed the audience and highlighted the many opportunities that the region offers for business, pleasure, sport, or leisure travels. Delivering the vote of thanks, Ambassador Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, Dean of Diplomatic Corps stressed on the importance of public and cultural diplomacy in bringing the Latin American and Caribbean region closer to the Indian tourists.
